Ah shucks! It’s oyster month at Jax Fish House (all March long) and we kicked it off with them by trying all of the delicious oysters they are showcasing throughout the month! Here’s a little recap of all that I slurped in celebration of this fun month!
Oyster 1: Hot West Coast oyster served hot with yuzu kosho butter, puffed rice and nori
Oyster 2: French Onion Oyster-French onion soup, breadcrumbs, fontin
Oyster 3: Rockefeller style with plant-based chorizo, sourdough crumb compote, micro cilantro and white onion mignonette
Oyster 4: A “crab & cheese wonton” style East Coast oyster with blue crab, red pepper sweet-and-sour sauce and crispy fried wontons.
Oyster 5: A cold East Coast oyster topped with Meyer lemon granita and fresh basil
Oyster 6: A raw West Coast oyster served cold on the half shell with cucumber yogurt, finger lime and fresh mint
Oyster 7: The Uber Luxe Oyster, served cold and topped with creme fraiche, caviar and chives
Oyster month is going on through the end of March! Please note, certain locations will offer certain oysters. Not all of the above oysters are offered at all of the locations all month long. Different flavors will rotate throughout the month. But you will be excited to try different flavors, both hot and cold and both West and East Coast!
